The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has today clarified about the JEE Main and NEET examination dates after the postponement due to COVID lockdown. Today, the minister interacted with 25 lakh students and specified that JEE Main examination will be held from 18th to 23rd July while the NEET UG examination will be held on 26th July.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has earlier scheduled the JEE Main 2020 to be conducted on April 5, 7, 8, and 11, to the last week of May. While the examination was cancelled due to COVID lockdown. While the MHRD decided the rescheduled dates of JEE main and NEET exams.
Yet, the decision about class 10th and class 12th examinations to be announced by the HRD.
All the universities in the country are closed till 16th March after the central government announced the closing of educational institutions. After 24th March the lockdown caused to halt the academic and entrance examinations in the nation.
“The plan is to conduct entrance examinations like NEET and JEE in June. But it is extremely important to keep reviewing the Covid-19 situation,” a UGC official told PTI on April 25
Earlier, the NTA announced that the NEET examination will be conducted on 3rd May. While the postponement of the NEET and JEE Main examinations has been announced on 27th March. Now, the HRD Ministry has declared the NEET and JEE Main examinations to be conducted in July.
“Since parents and students have to travel to different examination centres, to avoid any inconvenience to them, I have directed the National Testing Agency to postpone NEET (UG) 2020 and JEE (Main) till last week of May,” Pokhriyal had said in a tweet.
